Anxiety & Overthinking
Constant overthinking, worrying and catastrophising can feel exhausting.
You may find it difficult to switch your mind off, constantly analysing situations, worrying about the future or replaying conversations long after they have happened. Anxiety can leave you feeling permanently on edge, emotionally drained and unable to fully relax, even when there are no obvious reasons why.
Many people I work with describe:
~constant worry or overthinking
~feeling anxious most of the time
~panic attacks or intense fear
~avoiding situations that make you anxious
~expecting the worst
~struggling with uncertainty
~racing thoughts
~difficulty relaxing or switching off
~fear of making mistakes
~needing reassurance from others often
~overanalysing conversations or situations
~physical symptoms of anxiety such as tension, nausea, sweating, shaking, heart feeling like it's beating out of your chest or restlessness
Overtime anxiety can begin to affect relationships, confidence, self esteem, sleep, work, parenting and overall wellbeing as life begins to get smaller the more you avoid things that make you anxious.
How therapy can help
We can work towards reducing chronic worry and overthinking, understanding your triggers, developing coping strategies that actually work and reducing self criticism in a way that feels safe and manageable.
Therapy can help you to feel less controlled by your anxiety and to live the life based on what you want to be doing rather than what your anxiety will allow you to do.
If you would like to explore whether therapy may feel right for you, please feel free to get in touch.
